Election & Budget Calendar
Regular, predictable democratic engagement.
In our Sovereignty framework, the Sovereignty Act will maintain a five year cycle in between General Elections, but will establish a regular calendar of voting days, where there are three voting days each year.
These will be on:
- 05 March
- 05 July
- 05 November (and yes, to commemorate Guy Fawkes day and all its implications in a meaningful day)
General Elections will take place on 05 July. This is in order to ensure a reasonable timeframe for a new Finance Bill and Charter for Budget Responsibility to be passed into law on 05 November, providing roughly five months for taxpayers, businesses and government agencies to prepare for new fiscal policies that will come into affect at the start of the financial year on 06 April.
