Housing change, seen in council figures within seconds

The housing system records a repair's status. The Local Authority View reads that record as it changes, so its figure moves within seconds. Nobody copies data from one system to the other. This is native interoperability: the two systems were built separately, with no integration work between them.

What you will see

  1. The first figure in the Local Authority View goes down by one, then back up.
  2. A damp report that you make is listed by the council's view within seconds.

About 3 minutes. There is no sign-up. These systems open with no choice of user.

What to try

  1. Resolve Szabo household's damp repairs

    1. In Brindlewood Housing, find the two repairs of the Szabo household in the Repairs register: RR-1003 and J88103.
    2. In the Repair status column of each, choose Resolved.

Result Within five seconds, the first figure in the Local Authority View goes down by one. The home has no open damp repair now.

  2. Set both repairs back

    1. Set RR-1003 back to Inspected and J88103 back to Reported.

Result The figure goes back up by one.

  3. Report damp and mould yourself

    1. Press New damp and mould report, choose a property and press Create report.

Result Your report is at the top of the register. Within a few seconds, the Local Authority View lists it under What just happened, and the count of records from Brindlewood Housing goes up by one.

What this shows about Technology DNA

  • The council's figures are worked out from the departments' live records each time they change. They are not copied from a spreadsheet.
  • Your report and your changes stay until the reset that runs every night.
